MAM Asks Govt to Declare a National Day of Prayer Against Covid-19

The Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has asked the government of Malawi to declare a National Day of Prayer against the Covid-19 pandemic.

In an interview with Malawi Muslims Official Website, MAM's Spokesperson Sheikh Dinala Chabulika says "the country needs divine intervention".

The call comes as Malawi is battling with the rising of Covid-19 related deaths, prompting the authorities to ask everyone to continue following precaution measures.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Chabulika has asked all Muslims in the country to follow the guidelines that were set by the government.

He said if there should be one found not complying with the directives, the Mosque committee "has got the right to take specific action within their mandate".
