Mphuzi Village Gets Borehole as MYF Tackles Water Shortage

Muslim Youth Foundation (MYF) has successfully completed and officially handed over a newly drilled borehole in Mphuzi Village, Traditional Authority (TA)  Chadza in Lilongwe district.

The project was implemented in response to the long-standing water challenges faced by the community, where residents have for many years struggled to access clean and safe drinking water. The intervention is expected to significantly improve living conditions by reducing the distance and time previously spent in search of water.

The handover ceremony, held recently in the village, was attended by local leaders and community members who gathered to witness the official commissioning of the facility. The village chief expressed profound appreciation to MYF and its partners, noting that the borehole will bring lasting relief to the entire community.

Residents also conveyed their joy, describing the project as a timely and life-changing intervention. In a spirit of gratitude, they offered prayers (Duas) for the donors, asking Allah to bless and reward all those who contributed to the initiative.

Speaking during the ceremony, the MYF Director of Projects, Jaffalie Jameson, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to advancing sustainable community development projects, particularly those that address essential needs such as access to clean water. He emphasized that MYF remains dedicated to working with partners to extend similar interventions to other underserved areas.

Jameson further expressed its sincere appreciation to its partner, Mango Charity Fund from South Africa, for bankrolling the project. He  highlighted that such partnerships continue to play a crucial role in improving the quality of life in vulnerable communities.
