Muslim girls' education progress impress MAM spokesperson

Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) Spokesperson Sheikh Dinala says the number of Muslim girls pursuing studies in various disciplines show how Muslims in the country are progressing academically.

Sheikh Chabulika made the remarks during an interactive meeting with the girls who have benefited from Zamzam Foundation scholarship at Iqra Propagation Centre in Blantyre.

According to MAM Spokesperson, it was rare in the past to see Muslim girls in health field.

"It was rare to see Muslim girls joining the health science campuses in this country. It was very rare even to see one woman. Now at once ,we are sending 41 students to all campuses, Zomba, Lilongwe and Blantyre,"

"Wallah, I feel this is a milestone for all Muslims in the country. I don't know how many have graduated this year. I don't know how many will graduate next year. Now we can see how we are moving," says Sheikh Chabulika.

Zamzam Foundation has partnered Islamic Zakat Fund (IZF) to support 41 female Muslim girls to study Nursing program in all Malawi College of Health Science campuses.

Zamzam Foundation also donated items such as blankets, Islamic literature and bags to the students.
