Pedestrian Killed in Road Accident

A man identified as Limbani Kachisi, 20 years, of Njirayagoma village, Sub Traditional Authority Phalula in Balaka district, has died after been involved in a hit and run road accident at Phalula trading centre.

The unknown vehicle which was driven by unknown driver, was coming from Chingeni direction heading towards Zalewa on August 02, 2020.

Balaka Police Station Deputy Publicist Precious Makuta says upon arrival at Phalula trading centre, the vehicle hit a pedestrian who was walking from the opposite direction due to overspeeding.

"Following the impact, the deceased sustained multiple fractures on the chest, arms, legs and head. He died on the spot," Makuta says.

Post-mortem which was done at Balaka district hospital revealed that death was due to multiple fractures as well as loss of blood.
