MAM Hands Over a 600-Capacity Masjid in Liwonde

Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) on Saturday, February 23 handed over a 600-capacity masjid worth 18 million kwacha in Mmanga village T/A Nsamala in Liwonde district.

The new masjid has been built with funds from United Arab Emirates AID (UAE AID) and MAM’s 95th masjid within 6 months.

According to MAM’s National Chairman Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad, the masjid is their biggest ever and hopes for more of similar nature to come.

“Most of our masajid have been 8x7 and if it is big, then it’s 15x15. But this one is 20x15, making it the biggest masjid among all,” he said.

The national chairman further promised people in the area that MAM will work on the remaining necessities like modern toilets, a borehole among others.
